Poems written between 1979 and 1983, this is the journal of a survivor of the storm that was the 20th century.

"Everything is ephemeral and never repeats," states Jos? Emilio Pacheco, reminding us of the brevity of our time on Earth. We assume that "the sea will have turned to desert / when we are no longer here to see and love it," but we forget that this fleeting condition is what gives existence its extraordinary hue: "everything is valuable because everything is unrepeatable."
