Los Principios de la Democracia (the Principles of Democracy)

The idea of democracy, government for and by the people, is a central component of the American way of life. It has been since the country's founders declared the United States a free nation in 1776. The principles of equality, fairness, and respect help keep democracy alive in our modern society and help ensure that all U.S. citizens are protected from injustice.
