Beskrivelse
This is a true-life account from inside a prison for serious offenders, where the identities of the jail and the names of the inhabitants have been changed, so that the author can reveal its deepest secrets and expose the reality. The characters Parker recounts include: an unstable young lifer with the football skills of Paul Gascoigne; the couple whose active sex life lands them in the chokey; the child sex offender who is freely allowed to paddle on the beach; the Bedouin double murderer whose terrible end goes unnoticed; and Jane, the education officer, whose sensitive treatment of inmates leads to a campaign by the authorities Convicted of murder, Norman Parker was a category-A prisoner for most of the 30 years he spent in British jails. While in prison, he gained an Upper-Second Honours degree from the Open University. He is the author of "Parkhurst Tales" and "More Parkhurst Tales".
