Beskrivelse
Marilyn's life with hypopituitarism starts in 1972 with a medical emergency that, many years later and with the benefit of hindsight, was diagnosed as a pituitary apoplexy. Marilyn spent the next ten years wondering why she was not experiencing the best of health before a diagnosis of hypopituitarism was finally made and she realised that her pituitary gland was not producing sufficient amounts of hormones - a eureka moment which explained everything From the time of her diagnosis in 1982, Marilyn brings the reader up to the present day with descriptions of her life, her complex medical history and her other health issues that, possibly, were triggered by the pituitary apoplexy, the late diagnosis of her hypopituitarism and hypopituitarism itself. This book reveals the challenges Marilyn has faced and the coping mechanisms she used, yet it is clear that, with the support of family, friends and medical and holistic professionals, none of Marilyn's problems have been insurmountable. All proceeds from the sale of this book go to The Pituitary Foundation.
