Beskrivelse
The publication in 2012 by Editions Glyphe of The Life and Pioneering Work of Louis-Victor Marce answered the need for a study of Marce's life and work. The Marce Society had long pointed to the dearth of information on Marce's life and the need to situate Marce's magisterial Treatise on the Madness of Pregnant Women in the context of Marce's entire scholarly production. The thorough investigation conducted by the late Therese Lemperiere (1925-2013) and Jean-Pierre Luaute brings to light for the first time the facts surrounding Marce's tragic death and sheds additional light on Marce's genius as clinician and pioneer in underexplored fields of pathology. ABOUT THE AUTHORSTherese Lemperiere (1925-2013) was a Professor of Psychiatry in Paris where she worked with Jean Delay and Pierre Deniker and contributed to the launching of neuroleptics; she was the author of many training books among witch Psychiatry of the adults.Jean-Pierre Luaute neuropsychiatrist, worked for 30 years in a state hospital in the department of la Drome, he is interested in the study of the borders between psychiatry ans neurology and by the history of these specialities.
