Liberty

First-responders put themselves into harm's way each time they go to help someone. This is true for the working dogs that go along with them. In this story, a little girl gets lost in the forest while she is camping with her mom and her cousin. Terrified, the girl tries to find her way back to the campsite unsuccessfully. After several scary hours, the girl is found by her grandmother and her grandmother's dog, Liberty. Liberty is a Search and Rescue dog in training. This book introduces readers to a real life Search and Rescue dog and demonstrates how valuable these animals are.
