Now in possession of the mysterious dagger, Sylvia expected her vampire boyfriend Theo to help her discover the secrets of the ancient artifact. But when Theo abandons her to answer his Maker's call, she is left to depend on the only reliable person in her life: the demon Pilkington.

Unlike Sylvia, Pilkington has always known what he desires. More than anything, he wants his human friend to be happy-even if that means watching her fight for the love of another man. He's still a demon though, and certainly not above tempting her.
