Set in early '90s New York City, June, the novel, tells the story of a young artist named Alice who takes on work as a professional submissive in a Manhattan S&M dungeon. Alice adopts the workplace pseudonym "June" and soon after, the erratic lifestyle of a sex worker. Featuring a cast of characters ranging from her artist friends on the Lower East Side to her millionaire clients on the Upper East Side, it sheds light, not only on the all too common hypocrisy of the wealthy, but also on the fact that we are often happiest when we have nothing to lose. June's character is never a victim but a young woman with a writer's curiosity, no rent money and an ass made for spanking. Unflinching, debauched and full of heart and soul, you'll need a very large box of Kleenex just to get through the first couple chapters. Based on Rev. Jen's own experiences in the industry, June offers humor, honesty and a firsthand account of the fetishes, obsessions and desires of grown men.
