Islamic Art

This book introduces students to various Islamic art creations, which are all rooted in the use of geometric patterning. Students will learn why symmetry and balance play an important role in Islamic culture, while also focusing on how to construct and understand the highlighted patterns. Includes colorful photographs of geometric tile designs, in addition to explanatory charts and instructions on how to draw and create symmetrical patterns and tessellations through the use of bilateral symmetry, rotational symmetry, and semi-regular tessellation.
