Interpersonal Dynamics Consultation Manual

The Interpersonal Dynamics Consultation Manual is designed for use by clinicians. This manual is a milestone in the provision of inpatient care for forensic psychiatric patients because the Interpersonal Dynamics (ID) approach establishes, for the first time in forensic work, the subjective experience of staff as a diagnostic tool. ID will be invaluable when applied by multidisciplinary teams in forensic psychiatric settings. It will help them to make sense of stalemate situations and incidents with patients, providing them with a new understanding as well as the possibility of different responses. After five years of thoroughly structuring their experience gained in clinical consultations with forensic psychiatric staff teams the authors present a tool which hopefully will find widespread distribution and application.
