If JESUS is my Song, Why am I so... OUT OF Tune?

BALANCE--that subtle but oh so necessary ingredient for success. Whether it be playing a song, swinging a golf club, surfing a wave, raising a child, or living the Christian life, knowing where to draw the fine lines between the good and the not-so-good is a daily challenge. It can mean the difference between failure and success. We search the scriptures for wisdom, for a new tip to bring it all together, only to experientially realize that the Christian life is more than just a formula for success. To our demise and ultimately the beginnings of our Christian maturity, we discover that there are no perfect formulas, only a perfect God and imperfect man. And even though Jesus Christ is our supernatural link, the fine lines between His way and ours can be difficult to see. For instance, last week were you bold or prideful? Humble or timid? Cautious or fearful? Faithful or foolhardy? So many fine lines; so easy to fool ourselves. Oft unaware, we sing our heartfelt rendition of the Perfect Song...and then wonder why there isn't an encore.
