I See Shapes

I See Shapes is aligned to the Common Core State Standards for English/Language Arts, addressing Literacy.RI.K.4 and Literacy.L.K.1. The shape featured in each spread is superimposed on each photograph to make it obvious to readers what shape is being discussed. By looking at a window, the reader sees a square. By looking at a door, the reader sees a rectangle. A construction sign is a triangle, a starfish is a star, an egg is an oval, and the ever-present school clock is the circle. This book should be paired with "Shapes" (9781448886340) from the Rosen Common Core Readers Program to provide the alternative point of view on the same topic.
