These authentic Amish cookie recipes are from my Amish grandmother's kitchen. Some are original family recipes and others are recipes shared by other members of our community. I learned how to make these cookies without electricity and in wood-burning ovens.

Often there are no instructions, or insufficient instructions, with the original recipes. I learned how to make cookies mostly by watching my mother, aunts, and grandmothers and memorizing each step.
