History of Art Since 1945 in Five Chapters

The history of art, as this developed after the Second World War, is an important chapter of the global cultural heritage. Europe and the United States of America led the field in charting the new paths that artists followed after 1945. In the second half of the twentieth century, art became inventive and rich in expressive manners, but at the same time difficult and enigmatic. Movements and trends took shape, which contain elements of both the pictorial and the abstract.
