What is it that compels us to follow our all-consuming passions? Is it a search for that elusive, genuine happiness that uplifts the spirit and satisfies the soul? But why go cruising? For my husband Robert and I, it was the innate desire to explore our world, escape the rat race and cold winters, while partaking of a truly unique lifestyle. A romantic dream enticed us to sail to warm, secluded beaches in the tropics to spend time swimming and snorkeling in aquarium-like settings, spending time in nature in its least corrupted arena. The ingenuity, perseverance, and hard work that was required by both of us to keep the dream alive and the ship in running shape, bred a mutual respect and trust that generated love and strengthened our relationship.
