Beskrivelse
The third in a series of congressionally mandated reports on Gulf War veterans' health, this volume evaluates the long-term, human health effects associated with exposure to selected environmental agents, pollutants, and synthetic chemical compounds believed to have been present during the Gulf War. The committee specifically evaluated the literature on hydrogen sulfide, combustion products, hydrazine and red fuming nitric acid. Both the epidemiologic and toxicologic literature were reviewed.Table of ContentsFront MatterExecutive Summary1 Introduction2 Considerations in Indentifying and Evaluating the Literature3 Uncombusted Fuels and Combustion Products: Background Information4 Cancer5 Respiratory Outcomes6 Cardiovascular Disease7 Reproductive and Developmental Outcomes8 Other Health Outcomes9 Hydrazines and Nitric AcidAppendix A: Conclusions from Gulf War and Health Volumes 1 and 2Appendix B: Literature SearchesAppendix C: Types of Epidemiologic StudiesAppendix D: Descriptive Tables of Cancer StudiesIndex
