Green China, Green Economy

This report, compiled by journalists of the Xinhua News Agency, records the concrete steps taken by the Chinese people to reduce China's carbon footprint and to correct past practices of the past that have harmed China's air, ground, and water. The report introduces China's latest sustainable development policies and outlines its ambitious targets beyond 2020 in what it calls its "utmost efforts" to tackle the global challenge of climate change. 2016 marks the first year in the implementation China's 13th Five-Year Development Plan, making the next five years critical, not only to China's sustainable growth, but also to the joint efforts of all nations to keep our planet a good place to live for many generations to come.
