INGELISE FLENSBORG, LISE OLRIK, KIS HENRIKSEN:
GRANDPARENTS – A RESOURCE FOR CHILDREN
We are three Danish grandmothers who have written a book of values and activities we want to share and promote to make a good life for upgrowing children – for grandchildren. The book falls in three parts – Art and Culture, The Role of Nature and Creative Processes.
The focus is on all the activities and ideas that can give you a rich and authentic relationship to your grandchildren or any relation between a grown-up and a child. The three parts are based on theoretical and didactic ideas, and the photos are helpful to give an idea of what can be practiced together with the children. The book is for persons, that are interested in seeing a child growing up with all its potentials.

“Grand parents a resource for children” is a little jewel, not only for grandparents but for adults who want to be part of the GROWTH as a person of the child. It takes grownups through paths of respect, connexion, creativity, emotion, and sensitivity to be experienced with the children who will enhance their personalities performing activities of art and culture, nature and creativity. It is full of wisdom described in an easy way. When reading the book, an image of doors being opened kept coming to me. Almost at the end, I found the sentence of S. Kierkegaard: “It opens doors to the inside”. To me, it reflects the importance of this book. It brings us simple and beautiful ideas of activities we can do which lead to important achievements for the children and for ourselves. It is just the beginning of many others that will come after we have opened this door. Cristina Larraz from Madrid Spain
