Global teaching and learningin a post-COVID future

Education is a global endeavor, bringing governments and the private sector together to provide education across the primary, secondary, and tertiary sectors. However, education provision, funding, and status vary and are subject to increasing global inequity and opportunity. The global Covid pandemic has shone a light on education, highlighting weaknesses in the sector and the ability of some educationalists to change practice for the better in a concise time frame.The sector is now undergoing an internal review based on the perception that pre-Covid practice featured significant flaws. As a result, there is an increasing focus on innovative technologies, new multiple modes of delivery, artificial intelligence, increased understanding of the neuroscience around learning, and the role of the teacher. This paper explores potential educational futures and their impact on the global understanding of the sector.
