Glimpses of Works on Spirituality and Devotion

In the Sanaatana Dharma (Hindu Dharma) and tradition, there are innumerable works which are expositions of spirituality and devotion. These can be broadly termed 'Stotras' - roughly translated as 'Hymns'. A Stotra of spirituality theme can address several profound concepts such as the nature of 'Atma' (Self), the nature of 'Brahman' (Supreme Self), path of 'Moksha' (liberation from the birth-rebirth cycle), etc. A Stotra of devotional theme can be one of a variety of forms - a prayer, praise / eulogy, instructions of certain procedures of worship or ritual, etc.

This book serves as a catalog of several hundred Sanskrit Stotras with spiritual themes and also devotional ones dedicated to many deities. Each Stotra contains 'Metadata' about the Stotras (ex. source/composer, number of verses, significance, purpose, etc.). Each Stotra is presented with the starting verse (or part of it) in Devanagari script, followed by its English transliteration, to facilitate Web search to obtain more details.
