Nicki Fischer has one great big goal: to win her city's Battle of the Bands competition. All she needs is...well, a band. Enter a rumored arsonist, a popular jock, and an abrasive freshman oddball. Armed with nothing but a few chords and a dogged determination to dethrone the Battle's sleazy reigning champions, Nicki thinks her rag-tag crew actually has a shot to win. Now she just needs to navigate a tense relationship with her father, not screw things up with her best friend, and survive the tenth grade.
