Tara works daily to better her mental health and overall well-being, and it was from her experience with childhood trauma, surviving cancer, a late diagnosis of autism and ADHD, the loss of her parents, and a lost pregnancy that led to the publication of her first two titles, Rabbit & Bear Make a Wish and Rabbit & Bear Return with the Light. Although Gather the Stars and Hang the Moon is a departure from her Rabbit & Bear characters, Tara's raw, authentic, and relevant voice still shines through.
