French in the Primary Classroom

This is a dedicated resource that supports primary classroom teachers and teaching assistants in the delivery of the KS2 Framework for Languages. "French in the Primary School" is an ideas and activities resource for teachers and teaching assistants, regardless of their linguistic competence. It is particularly suited to those who have no or little prior experience of language teaching.Angela McLachlan presents a resource bank of games and activities to enhance the teaching and learning experience for children aged 7-11, to engage and motivate the young learner, and to promote sound language learning in the primary classroom.Each game and activity is linked to: Oracy (listening and speaking), Literacy (reading and writing), Knowledge about language, Intercultural understanding and contact, and Language-learning strategies. An audio guide is provided to guide both teachers and learners in their pronunciation, together with downloadable worksheets and a vocabulary bank.
