Foundations of the Coptic Language

The Coptic language is the language of the Egyptian fathers and forefathers, preceding the entrance of Christianity into Egypt. It is the language in which the fathers of most of the land of Egypt read the Holy Scriptures. It is the language in which the fathers of Coptic monasticism wrote their sayings and in which their biographies were written. It is also the language in which the Coptic Church enjoys the prayers of the Divine Liturgy and the daily Psalmody to the present day.
