As a priest who is also a psychologist, the reflections in this book are inspired by my lived conviction that the Gospel liberates and can satiate the thirst of humanity. Salvation is about living life here to the full as much as it is about gaining eternal life. Jesus meets both needs with the Gospel. He invites all who labour and are overburdened to come to him and find rest. When those labouring under the overwhelming burden of the Law came, he simplified it for them: love of God and love of neighbour. You don't have to put on the right shoe before the left shoe or tie the left shoe lace before the right as the Law strictly stipulated. What is important is that you don't go around kicking people with your shoe.
