'Fireland'

A young man, coming of age, guided by a Native Spirit man moves to Yukon Canada and reluctantly becomes a forest firefighter, then guided by a Native spirit man, finds both work and woman to love. Nestled near the Canadian Pacific north coast in the great unknown interior of British Columbia lay the 'Sloko Valley ', located just east of Skagway.¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿·¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿"¿¿¿¿¿¿"¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿Here grew 30 meter cottonwood trees and all the game that nature provided North America, long before the infestation of man.¿¿¿¿30¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿Sloko Valley was no protected and nurtured park but still wild and free, with foxes the sizes of dogs sniffing for field mice, gray wolves hunting mountain sheep, eagles soaring up from her peeks and black and grizzly bears roaming her thick valley floors.¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿·¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿ ¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿East of this primordial settling, lay the tiny town of Atlin alongside Atlin lake, which ended next to Llewellyn Glacier which in turn bordered Sloko Valley.¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿¿In the town lived the Klinkit people and many others, and down a dusty road, three tough ladies, living in a teepee and to come, soon one lost soul.
