Farmstay

Farmstay is speculative fiction story about John and Karen Johnson who, approaching retirement age are put out to pasture from the corporate world, so they try their hand at a farmstay resort in Segno, Texas within Deep East Texas. Chicken eggs, rabbit, goat chops and cheese are distributed and sold through local convenience stores. Guests book stays to participate in life on a working farm. To please Karen, John commissions the construction of a town square. He leverages his success and ventures out into the grocery industry and establishes many townships throughout Deep East Texas. What do you want to do when you retire? In 2024 over 35% of American workers are 50 years of age or older. 60 million workers are being forced out of their jobs. What are they supposed to do now? Do they have value or are they simply liabilities?
