Exploration of Piano Theory and Positions with Alien and Monster Themes and Illustrations

This book is designed for the early elementary student. The student should be able to play in the C Position and learning to progress into other positions. This book is designed to compliment the weekly assigned pieces. It will allow the student to put on their musical detective hat and recognize instructions. The student will complete a questionnaire determining key signature, time signature, tempo, dynamics, tonic note, tonic chords, pentascale. The student will then undertake the writing of the pentascale in the key signature of the piece, harmonic and melodic intervals. This notation will help deepen the understanding and recognition of the patterns located in the piece. Recognition of patterns will assist with decoding of the symbols and understanding of the piece.
