Beskrivelse

Fiona, an American, comes to Venice for the Film Festival with her other, rich, artist friends where she meets an Italian man on the Ponte Paglia in front of the Bridge of Sighs by the romantic Piazza San Marco who takes her heart to unexpected places in Venice. Together, they explore the many secret, hidden places of Venice unknown to tourists along with the readers of Evening Painting who travel with them to the "underground crypt of mirrors," the "miracle of the Salt smuggler," the "mystic blessing at the Palazzo Ducale," and more wonders in the five Sestieris of this "floating world" called Venice. Vissini, a writer himself, is temporarily living there waiting for inspiration to write a story about Venice. During the course of discovering the deeper, hidden beauty of picturesque Venice, itself as much a protagonist as Vissini and Fiona, their own love reveals itself for each other. Unknown to Vissini, Fiona and her friends plan to go to Paris after the Film Festival. But, will she?Vissini poses for a painting by Fiona with the Isla San Pietro behind him at sunset when she asks him if he will go with her to Paris, relying on his love for her to say "yes." But, will he? Will Vissini go with her or stay to write the story of Venice for which he has now found the inspiration? Will he make the morning train to Paris or will his love for her stay in Venice where it began, if she leaves?
