English summary: The discourse of eroticism and pornography between morality and commerce has had a long pre-history. Most recently in the era of industrialization, pornography developed into a middle-class phenomenon, and the subversive components, which were a feature of the philosophical novels of the Age of Enlightenment, gradually faded. Meanwhile, the erotica and pornography industry had become a leading product in international business. At the turn of the millennium and with the advancing pervasiveness of the internet, erotic business underwent a burst of development and the online business to make its business more dynamic. Nevertheless, there was, against the background of the long standing double-standard in the approach to sexuality, eroticism and pornography, a scandal in the publishing world in 2011 with the appearance of the erotic novel 50 Shades of Grey. In this present anthology, individual aspects within the business of eroticism and pornography are addressed over the period lasting from the 18th century to the present. This book approaches the subject of book and publishing history from an interdisciplinary perspective and therefore offers a pioneering work, which should stimulate research and which considers itself as a prelude for the systematic study of these fascinating subjects. German description: Die Diskurse um Erotik und Pornografie zwischen Moral und Kommerz haben eine lange Vorgeschichte. Spatestens im Zeitalter der Industrialisierung war Pornografie zu einem burgerlichen Phanomen avanciert, und die subversive Komponente, die noch den philosophischen Roman des Aufklarungszeitalters auszeichnete, verblasste allmahlich. Mittlerweile zahlt die Erotika- und Pornoindustrie zu den Marktfuhrern im internationalen Handel. Mit der Jahrtausendwende und der fortschreitenden Verbreitung des Internets erlebte der Erotikhandel einen neuerlichen Entwicklungsschub - das Onlineangebot vermochte diese Branche noch weiter zu dynamisieren. Dennoch kam es, vor dem Hintergrund der seit je vorherrschenden Doppelmoral im Umgang mit Sexualitat, Erotik und Pornografie, mit dem Erscheinen des Erotiktitels Shades of Grey im Jahr 2011 zu einem Skandal im Buchhandel. Im hier vorgelegten Sammelband werden Einzelaspekte im Geschaft mit Erotik und Pornografie uber einen Zeitraum vom 18. Jahrhundert bis zur Gegenwart aufgegriffen. Im Bereich der interdisziplinar ausgerichteten Buch- und Verlagsgeschichtsschreibung liegt damit eine Pionierarbeit vor, die Forschungsimpulse geben soll und sich als Auftakt fur die systematische Erforschung dieses facettenreichen Themas versteht.
