Is being content the same as being happy? James isn't convinced, but for the rest of the inhabitants of the Dome, the answer seems to be a resounding yes. The Dome is a man-made paradise, a haven from the synthetic world outside. Machines are forbidden, progress itself has been banned. The people there live and die in exactly the same way as the generations that have come before them. However, those inside the Dome are completely unaware that their world is about to be torn to shreds, and it is all because the Dome has a secret, a secret so horrendous that no price is too high for those who wish to uncover it and nothing is too extreme for those who wish to protect it. James is about to be caught in the eye of the storm, and content is something he will never be again.
