Dr. B. R. Ambedkar

This book is an endeavor in shedding light on the challenging life events of B.R. Ambedkar. Born in an oppressed Dalit Mahar caste, he devoted his life for the upliftment of the community. In this volume, we try to have a look at his confrontation with the discriminating untouchability norms, academic journey, political career, the drafting of the constitution, the organizations he established to serve the community and his conversion to Buddhism. Bhimrao Ramji Ambedkar, also known as Baba Saheb Ambedkar, born on 14 April, 1891 was a multifaceted personality. An acclaimed lawyer, a socio-political reformer who led the depressed sections of the society on the crusade against untouchability, a constitutional expert who played a pivoting role in drafting the constitution as the chairman of the drafting committee and the first law minister of independent India. His life and work still guides to formulate policies for the betterment of the underprivileged.
