Dexter Birdsong and the Martian Invasion of 1938

Dexter and his family lived a quiet, normal, boring life in the small town in the big flat middle of Illinois, "The Prairie State". Dexter liked to read about adventures but he really never expected to have one until the night of October 30, 1938 when our world was invaded...through the airwaves This is a novel of "Historic Fiction" which is aimed at a younger crowd, although the author hopes not to limit his audience too much. The story is full of details as to what life would have been like for a youngster in 1938 and how radio affected the every day comings and goings of an American family in the mid west.
