Departures

In this eighteenth volume of Diane Marquart Moore's poetry, she explores the lives and departures of loved ones--the many family passings... writing: "their points of departure felt...the faces appearing often enough... leaving] enough of themselves with me." Among the faces are departed teachers and musicians, including jazz musician "Bird" Parker and Am d Ardoin, Cajun singer and accordionist. The poignant, sometimes sardonic poems portray ordinary as well as extraordinary people who have left their unforgettable imprint and helped form the poet's life.
