Out of the shadows into the burning flames.

I was told that he was the best self-defense

I needed to protect myself.

I was vulnerable.

Weak.

My sister showed me that I was better than that and I had one mission to keep safe.

I was an independent woman, fighting to survive.

That's what I told myself until I met my instructor.

His tattoos and dark eyes should have kept me away.
