Defiance: (Yokai Book 2)

A fox, a tanuki, and a dog awaken as yokai, welcomed into a world of rational thought and the sense of morality that unfortunately comes along with it. They are approached with the tempting offer of power in exchange for falling in line as part of the Dark One's army, but they are not particularly known for their obedience.

A silver wolf, eager to spill blood in the name of chaos, joins their strange camaraderie, testing their tenuous alliance time and time again. With the ability to wield elemental magic and disguise themselves as humans, what could possibly go wrong? The real question is whether their misadventures will make a difference or if their failures will ensure victory for the darkness.

Defiance originated as a tabletop roleplaying experience that directly impacted the land of Shukumei and the events of Child of Fate.
