Deema's got a choice to make. Take a job and leave home or stick around and save what's left of her troubled family! Deema's mum nurtures Kashmiri plants in her Birmingham garden while her dad dreams of million pound homes in the Cotswolds when his growing debts threaten to swallow up their house for good. Meanwhile, out on the streets, her beloved brother Tariq goes from bad to worse. When Tariq's guilty secret is finally exposed, Deema is set on a collision course with both her parents and Jimmy the local dealer; and her game of keeping both her worlds in orbit begins to spin out of control...This compelling new play explores the tensions between parental attitudes from an older culture and the realities of inner-city life for their children. This is a co-production between Kali Theatre and Birmingham Rep followed by a UK tour.
