What do you do when you continue to learn you've been lied to your entire life? After so long being considered powerless and useless by her family Morrigan finally feels like she has a welcoming place to call home, but strange magic and Nikaius' disappearance threaten to throw that peace into disarray.

Even though she has two budding relationships to keep her strong, Morrigan has to come to terms with the fact that stepping out of her siblings' shadows means stepping into the light and no longer hiding behind anonymity. Building connections with people under her care through compassion is easy but moving past the habits and fears of the life she no longer lives, is not.

As her powers slowly grow and the dust from one disastrous event begins to settle, Morrigan finally begins to hope that they are on the right track to providing to those under her care. With the pack to help her understand she no longer has to face the monsters of her past alone, a new monster appears.
