Beskrivelse

This novel is loosely based upon my military experiences, experiences that other vets shared with me, and the experiences of the nurses who had an incredibly difficult job in Vietnam. It is a war story and a love story. 21 year old Greg Taylor, a rural bred grossly overweight man is drafted into the army. He suffers the humiliation of Basic Combat Training and then moves on to Advanced Individual Training- AIT- Military Police School. After a six month stint at Aberdeen Proving Ground, after his girl broke up with him, Greg meets the daughter of an officer and they fall in love, but the military gets in the way and that relationship ends. In Vietnam he is reunited with a nurse he knew back in the states. He and Sharon Andrews begin a torrid romance, illicit in the eyes of the army because he is an enlisted man and she is an officer. During his military service, both Greg and Sharon have some hair-raising adventures. Will this love affair remain intact, or will the army break them apart.
