Beskrivelse

"Code X - Operation Recall" is the first book of a series. The idea for the story came about after I learned that a fellow Vietnam veteran, PJ Pagano, a decorated Recon Marine, had worked for a clandestine company in New York City after his release from the Corps. The company designed and produced personal weapons and spy gear for the CIA and other such agencies. With his expertise and first-hand knowledge of people, places and events, we were able to develop this work of fiction, with some parts of it based on true events. The story begins in the mid-1960s, when the Cold War with the Iron Curtain countries is in full swing, the war in Vietnam was just beginning. The CIA, the FBI and military have their hands full. A local police investigation has revealed that a powerful US Senator is suspected of selling secrets to the Russians, but his influence and connections have successfully kept him from being caught. The President of the United States determined that if it is true and becomes public, it would be a major blow to the image of the US as the leader of the Free World and would increase the distrust of the government. Therefore, a secret investigation had to be done, and a secret group was needed for the job.Major General Walt Jamison, US Army (ret.), who began his career as a young paratrooper in WWII, and spent many years in the intelligence field, is chosen to head the secret unit, which he calls Code X. His first hire is a Baltimore PD detective, and Marine Corps veteran of Korea, who had linked the son of that senator to multiple murders. With the full clout of the accused senator, instead of the guilty parties being sent to prison, the detective was. The general establishes a home base, staffed with military veterans who have experience in intelligence, takes on three unorthodox agents, including a former stripper, and develops a training regimen at secret locations for the agents. The investigation takes them through the world of strip clubs, Las Vegas casinos, the United Nations and up against members of the KGB.
