Cliff, After

Cliff Keane gets paroled at age 26, after eight years in the Oregon State Penitentiary. With no money or possibilities, he returns to his little town hoping for forgiveness and a new life. His older sister finds him a rental; his parole officer finds him a job. But the going isn't easy. Everyone knows his past, and three families hang on to their hatred for him. Bit by bit, Cliff makes his way into recovery, into a calling, into real love, where forgiveness waits.

A note from the author

In 1993 at an AA meeting, I heard a middle-aged man named Cliff tell the story of a fateful graduation night. Thirty years and several moves later, I have never forgotten him and what he has had to carry. Only the bare facts of the accident are his words. The rest is fiction.
