When her father makes it big playing the lottery, 17-year-old Jessica Adams has her entire life uprooted as she is forced to move to the small, town of Union, Iowa, where the rich and the fabulous parade themselves around for all to see and know. Status and image is everything to the good, fine people of Union, but Jessica has never felt more like an outsider in all of her life.

When a chance encounter places her in the path of Union's beautiful 'It' girl--Stacey Johnson--Jessica's life is once more turned upside down as she befriends the girl, falling into her shadow to become someone of importance herself. The two become best friends, and Jessica finally feels that her life has new meaning.

But there is something sinister about the quaint little town of Union. A ruthless, bloodthirsty serial killer known as the Gravedigger--who tortures and buries his victims alive--has emerged, and girls around town have started to go missing. And he's placed his sadistic sights upon Jessica as his next.

As her life begins to unravel once again, Jessica must harness the strength that lies within herself--as well as the unusual, supernatural ability to see the future--to survive the Gravedigger's relentless pursuit of her while struggling to stay one step ahead of him before she, too, is buried alive.
