This bible citation in Jeremiah didn't stop Pope Julius 1 in the fourth century from fixing December 25 as the birthday of Christ as the same day as Mithra and Osiris. What about Easter? Pope Victor fixed Easter celebration to be on a Sunday maybe because Originally Jesus was an allegory of the sun that they eat as a wafer/sun. These two Popes couldn't deviate from the script that was originally written in Egypt concerning Christmas and Eater.
