Beskrivelse

Charles Dickens: The Stories of His Life is a celebratory introduction to the novels of Charles Dickens as well as being the fascinating story of the fast-paced life of the literary superstar of the Victorian era. The reader will get insights into what stirred the writer's mind when he conceived a new novel and what took place in his life during its composition. We follow Dickens back in time to see what shaped him and his stories, and we will see how each novel was then received and how it is now perceived. Humorously written from a Dickensian's point of view, this book is an invitation to join in the fun of reading 'The Inimitable' Charles Dickens.

This biography of Charles Dickens authorship gives a multiple overview of each of his literary works. Jesper Soeresens illuminates Dickens work, his visions, reflextions and attitudes on Vistorian challanges. The biographys also describes Dickens talent for creating psychological characters in children even before child psychology was defined as a modern science itself. It highlights the impact of Dickens work on moving away from a feudal and oppression society in the 19th and 20th centuries to a more equal and democratic world for poor people and children. Jesper Soerensens chronological introduction to Charles Dickens stories makes it easy to navigate in the complex and huge literay world of Dickens stories, life and era. This biography encourage me to study more thoroughly characters as Oliver Twist, DavidCopperfield and others.
