Beskrivelse

Everyone has secrets that keep them awake at night. For Gabriel Bennett, a once renowned Neurologist, his secrets took him from the life he once knew to living on the streets amongst the homeless. After keeping a promise to his dying patient three years earlier, he fled. To Gabriel, disappearing seemed like the perfect solution to all his problems. To his younger sister and colleagues, he has supposedly gone missing. Gabriel Bennett died and in his place homeless Gabe was born. For Gabe, no matter how far he ran, his past had a way of following him like an unwanted shadow.

Ashley James, a young paramedic with big dreams, left her small home town three years ago, after being shamed by her father for breaking off an engagement to a high-profile man that almost destroyed her. She made it her lifes work to save lives. She discovers that someone is stealing morphine from her ambulance supplies and the city's homeless population are receiving help from a person known as their "angel". Ashley makes it her mission to find out who this angel is and meets the broken man living in the shadows of the night.

Two worlds collide, where secrets are bound to be uncovered and lives changed forever. Gabe thrives on getting others off the streets, but is sure bent on keeping himself there, and the inquisitive, determined Ashley shakes his world apart. Not able to understand why he would rather be thought dead than alive, she pursues a friendship with this strange man and slowly worms her way into his cold heart and shows him a new life away from the streets.

In a battle of wills - when it comes down to choosing freedom or misery - who will win this war of life?
