She recently inherited her grandma's cabin on Cedar Pond, after not having visited it for over fifteen years. Running a successful business and living in upstate New York had made trips to the cabin in Little Tree, West Virginia, inconvenient, to say the least.

Brenda arrives back in town, bringing with her a packet from a local law firm that contains the necessary paperwork for the transfer of the property, and almost immediately becomes entangled in the dark and dangerous web of a killer who has been on the loose for over fifty years.

The ghosts of his murdered victims seek justice, and Brenda finds herself immersed in a realm of intrigue that she'd never dreamed was possible.
