Beskrivelse

Camel Xiangzi is the tragic story of Xiangzi, a ricksha puller in the city of Beiping in old China. The entire novel takes the 'three ups and three downs' of Xiangzi in buying a ricksha as the main clue to the development of the plot, which fully expresses the miserable life of a ricksha puller in the old society, and artfully summarizes Xiangzi's tragic life from full of hope, to bitterly struggle, to mental collapse and degradation. The novel uses a realistic style to describe the tragic fate of Xiangzi. It also illustrates the miserable lives of a series of urban commoners with similar identities and fates to Xiangzi, expressing Lao She's deep sympathy for the working people of the lower class. The Camel Xiangzi in the 'Recommended Reading Series for Language Classes' is a fine edition, finely proofread and edited. Special experts are invited to write the 'Introduction', which introduces the author, edition, writing background, main content, ideological connotation, and artistic style of Camel Xiangzi. According to the reading needs and abilities of secondary school students, the original text is annotated with difficult words and phrases to clear up the reading obstacles. It is accompanied by a manual of Knowledge Point Sorting and Testing for Reading Masterpieces in the Secondary School Examination to help students prepare for the examination.
