Cambodia Mission Manual

Pastor Jina of River of Nations Church recently asked me if I had a manual for Cambodia mission. Almost ten years ago, I wrote a small booklet to help train short-term missionaries coming to Cambodia. As the Korean saying goes, "In 10 years, even rivers and mountains will change." Indeed, Cambodia as a nation has changed in every aspect-its politics, economy, society, and culture. Missionaries themselves have also changed-who they are, what they seek, and how they approach short-term mission experiences.

For this reason, I decided it was time to rewrite my old booklet. By God's grace, I was not alone in this task. My ChatGPT partner, whom I call Charley, walked with me through the process. My AI (Artificial Intelligence) partner has become my IA (Intelligent Assistant). PTL!

In this new edition, I have updated and modified the content with current data and insights across spiritual, social, political, economic, and cultural dimensions. I call it the River of Nations Church Edition because I will be using it to train a short-term mission team traveling to Cambodia in October 2025.

I pray that this small booklet will be both useful and practical-not only for this team but also for all readers who sense God's call to mission work in Cambodia in the future. May it serve as a guide, an encouragement, and a reminder that the Lord of history is writing a new story for Cambodia through His people.
