The Call : Book One

Dirty, dangerous, pristine, and opulent - welcome to West Marque. The sun is slowly setting on the golden age of chivalry in West Marque. The kings are gone, replaced by Marshals. The 'knights of the realm' - the Fifth Wheel - no longer wear suits of armor or carry gilded swords. They wear badges and carry guns on their hips. Their old enemies, the Dead Priests, are ghosts of the past. John Gray, a member of the Order of the Fifth Wheel, is hard on the heels of the gambler James Gallant. He's chased him halfway across the realm and now he's so close to the traitor he can smell his pomade. Orders though have arrived that threaten to throw him off the gambler's trail. The Fifth Wheel have been summoned to Jonah's Sword for an Oath Swearing and with the Call comes the dawn of a new struggle for the High Seat of West Marque, a struggle that might awaken the ghosts of the past.
