Building Forever

Getting kicked out of our home by my husband, Isaac, wasn't in the plans. I take our daughter, Nix, and move in with my mom. While I'm breaking apart, he is off having the time of his life, not caring how it affects us. Trying to keep it together and show my daughter I can be strong even when things fall apart, even when Isaac demands a divorce.

Nix is starting middle school, and I'm returning to college to finish my interior design degree. Nix seems to be adjusting and happier. She visits her dad every other weekend.

On the first day of school, Isaac happened to be the guest speaker in my first class, and I couldn't handle seeing him after finding out he was trying to take everything from us. I leave the class upset, followed by a handsome emerald-eyed stranger. He sits with me until I have calmed down and the course ends, leaving me with a sexy smirk and his number.

Things get worse when my car doesn't start, but the sexy stranger, Ryker Bane, comes to my rescue. Once I finally accepted his help, unsure if I was ready to let myself be vulnerable again. I find myself wondering what he's doing and who he's with. Somehow Ryker has made his way inside my head and my dreams.

Nix pushes me to get to know him. He's determined to make me fall for him. I don't know if he can knock down the walls I've built up. Just as I let my walls slowly come down, things take a turn and make me wonder if I should reinforce them so no one can get through. Not sure if I should listen to my heart or my head.

However, Ryker has a secret and is scared to tell me. My walls start to go back up, and I am unsure if I can handle what he's keeping from me. He's forced into telling me he's been dreaming of me long before we met. How does that even work? He's determined to make me stay at his side, no matter what tries to come between us.
